Former IPL and Tamil Nadu Ranji player was offered ₹40 lakhs to fix matches

Rajagopal Sathish was offered ₹40 lakhs to fix the game in the TNPL by an Instagram user who approached the cricketer offering him bribery.

Tamil Nadu Ranji player and former player of Kolkata Knight Riders Rajagopal Sathish was offered ₹40 lakhs to fix matches.

Sathish is now playing in TNPL and was offered the money to fix matches by an Instagram user whose name is “Bunny Anand”. Sathish complained to Bengaluru about the fact that he offered money to fix matches.

The complaint quoted that On January 3, a person with the name of Bunny Anand approached Rajagopal Sathish through Instagram, offering him to pay ₹40 lakhs in exchange for fixing matches. Adding on, the complaint also quoted that Bunny Anand mentioned that two players have already agreed to this deal. Sathish in response said “sorry”.

Sathish used to play in the Indian Premier League for SRK owned team Kolkata Knight Riders and have also been witnessed in Ranji, playing for Tamil Nadu. He has also played for Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings, having lastly played in 2016. Sathish scored 270 runs in his 34 match IPL journey.

Sathish is currently playing in the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) and as per the reports Bunny Anand offered ₹40 lakhs to fix games in TNPL. BCCI is been informed about this shameful act of manipulating the game, and the Police have already formed a special team to catch the accused, who according to the reports is in Bengaluru

Anti-Corruption and Security Unit (ACSU) chief Shabbir Khandwawala agreed to have received the complaint by Sathish and is now working on it with the investigating officer. He also mentioned that the matter has been taken to ICC.
