Hardik Pandya is been named as the captain of the new Indian Premier League franchise Ahmedabad. The Indian all-rounder will play as a captain for the first time in the IPL and the fans are really excited to see him in this role. New franchises Ahmedabad and Lucknow chose three-three players for their team for the IPL 2022. Ahmedabad’s three players include Hardik Pandya (c), leg-spinner Rashid Khan, and former KKR opener Shubman Gill.

After Hardik Pandya was been appointed as the captain of the team, Australian former leg-spinner Brad Hogg thinks that it is the right choice made by the new IPL franchise (Ahmedabad). He feels Hardik can become a good captain in the future as he is somewhat like the former Indian captain Virat Kohli.

“Pandya could be a very good captain because he is a bit like Kohli. He wants to go out there and dominate. He’s got a body language that says, I’m here to beat you,” Brad Hogg said in a video posted on his YouTube channel.

The Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya wasn’t been retained by his former team Mumbai Indians as the IPL teams were only allowed to retain four players. Mumbai Indians picked Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, batsman Suryakumar Yadav, and all-rounder Kieran Pollard. BCCI decided to conduct a mega auction before starting the IPL season 15. So, there are a lot of good players who are not a part of any team and will be seen in this mega auction which will be conducted in the month of February.
