The cost of the cricket bat, made from English willow should be around four to five thousand Indian rupees, right? But what if it is used by one of the greatest cricketers on the earth to hit winning shots?
Here are the details of the costliest bat ever:
The Reebok branded English willow cricket bat caught attention immediately after India won the World Cup in 2011 after 28 years. Mahendra Singh Dhoni had used it in the final match on 2 April 2011 at Wankhede Stadium to hit the winning shot. Due the emotional value attached to it, the RK Global Share & Securities LTD has bought this bat for an unbelievable price i.e. Rs 83 lakhs ($161,295), that makes it the costliest bat across the globe.
Dhoni sold it at ‘East Meets West’ Charity Dinner, in London, UK, on 18 July 2011. The Guinness Book of World Records officially announced it to be the most expensive cricket bat in the world. Reportedly, the proceeds went to Dhoni’s wife Sakshi’s charitable organization.
