England’s Rehan Ahmed departs India tour early for personal reasons

England leg spinner Rehan Ahmed’s stint in India concludes prematurely as he opts to return home due to personal reasons. The England team management has chosen not to designate a replacement for him for the upcoming fixture.

The 19-year-old cricketer participated in all three Tests of the series, securing 11 wickets, the second-highest tally for England on this tour after Tom Hartley. Notably, Ahmed achieved a remarkable six-wicket haul in Vizag. However, England has decided to recall finger spinner Shoaib Bashir for the pivotal fourth Test match in Ranchi.

Despite being involved in training ahead of the Ranchi Test, Ahmed has made the difficult decision to depart. England faces a crucial situation in the Ranchi match, requiring a victory to keep the series alive and force a decider in Dharamsala, commencing on March 7.
