
On Thursday, England’s opener Zak Crawely was ruled out of the first two test matches against India on his 23rd birthday after sustaining a wrist injury.
On Wednesday, Crawely who turned 23 had slipped on the marble floor of the Chepauk dressing room, thereby injuring his wrist.
The ECB said in media release, “Following the results of the last night’s scan, England top batsman Zak Crawely has been ruled out of the first two Tests against India.”

“Scan result have confirmed that Crawely has injured his right wrist, which has sprained the joint and led to local inflammation. The England medical will continue to assess his progress over the next few weeks,” it stated.
The first Test match between India vs England begins on Friday.
