England vs Sri Lanka: Sri Lanka bowled out at 135

Today 29th June 2021, Sri Lanka is facing England in the first one-day international match. England skipper Eoin Morgan won the toss and elected to field first. The playing 11 of England team is Jonny Bairstow (wk), Liam Livingstone, Joe Root, Eoin Morgan (c), Sam Billings, Moeen Ali, Chris Woakes, Sam Curran, David Willey, Adil Rashid, Mark Wood.

On the other hand, the playing of Sri Lanka is Kusal Perera (c&wk), Pathum Nissanka, Charith Asalanka, Dasun Shanaka, Wanindu Hasaranga, Ramesh Mendis, Dhanajaya Lakshan, Chamika Karunaratane, Binura Fernando, Dushmantha Chameera, Praveen Jayawickrama.

In the first innings, Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Perara opened the innings for Sri Lanka. Pathum Nissanka was dismissed by Chris Woakes as he scored five runs from 19 balls. Kusal Perera scored a brilliant 73 runs knock by scoring seven boundaries. Later, he gave his wicket to David Willey. David Willey also dismissed Asalanka as Asalanka departs scoring without a single run.

Wanindu Hasranga also contributed 54 runs by scoring six boundaries and one six. Kusal Perera’s 73 and Hasranga’s 54 helped Sri Lanka to score 185. As mighty England thrashed Sri Lanka below 200. Now they will come out to bat to chase a total of 186. Chris Woakes made a crucial contribution by taking four wickets of Pathum, Shanaka, Hasranga, and Dhananjaya Lakshan. England has to chase the target of 185 in 50 overs to register the first match in the series.
