England pacer Mark Wood will miss the third Test against India due to injury

England cricket team has lost another pacer in their ongoing Test match series against India. Mark Wood is set to miss the third Test because of his shoulder injury.

England cricket team will have to play the third Test match against India without their, another main pacer Mark Wood after he suffered a shoulder injury in the second Test which was played in Lord’s Cricket Ground. He sustained the injury on the fourth day of the second Test. England Cricket Board has announced that they will be without their pacer in the next match at Emerald Headingly, Leeds. Stuart Board, another English pacer who was in the England Squad for this Test series against India is already been ruled out for the whole series because of his injury. Thus, Mark Wood’s injury is another huge blow for the England Cricket Board and the England Cricket Team.

Mark Wood was in the team for the second Test against India at Lord’s. It was a historic win for India in this match. Virat Kohli’s team displayed a great batting as well as bowling performance to finish on the winning side. It was not a good match for the English players as they were all out on 120 runs in the second innings, which gave the win to India by 151 runs and this victory helped India to lead in this Test match series against the hosts.

It was a good match for Mark Wood as the English fast bowler manages to take a total of 5 wickets, 2 in first and 3 in the second innings for England. However, after sustaining an injury on the boundary line while attempting to stop the ball, he didn’t come back to the pitch to bowl again. 

“England seamer Mark Wood has been ruled out of the LV= Insurance third Test against India with a jarred right shoulder. Wood sustained the injury on the fourth day of the second Test at Lord’s and will not be fit to play at Emerald Headingley starting on Wednesday,” ECB (England Cricket Board) stated on their official website.

However, he will be along with his teammates in Leeds for his treatment. ECB has also stated that it is not confirmed that the English seamer (Mark Wood) will be available for the fourth Test. They will make this decision after talking with their medical staff once the third Test is over.
