ENG v IND, 1st ODI: England’s top-4 batters achieve unwanted record in ODI cricket

England’s top-4 batters achieved an unwanted record against the fiery Indian bowling attack in the 1st ODI at Oval.

Indian bowling attack broke all the barriers to reducing to England a meager score at the loss of 5 wickets. During the England v/s India 1st ODI at Oval, the Indian bowling attack put the England team in a spot of bother with swing and seam. Jasprit Bumrah in his early spell scalped two early wickets of Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow. Later, the bowler returned to send Joe Root and Ben Stokes back to the pavilion. Bumrah sent four batters for a duck – Jason Roy 0 (5), Joe Root 0 (2), Ben Stokes 0 (1), and Liam Livingstone 0 (8) – in his spell. This has happened for the second time for England in ODI while the first time in England. Jasprit Bumrah created a record of grabbing 4 wickets at a duck in a match.

Mohammed Shami, too, was at his best against the likes of Ben Stokes and skipper Jos Buttler. England, recently, rocked the final test match where the home side chased 300+ runs on Day 4 of the Test. Indian team too returned with a phenomenal comeback to wrap the T20I series against England with a victory. India will aim to kickstart the series with a win against struggling England in the first ODI.
