Dinesh Karthik, labelled Pat Cummins as the world-class bowler

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) skipper Dinesh Karthik praised Australian fast bowler Pat Cummins as the world-class bowler. The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) captain feels that the pacer would play a big role in the sides of IPL 2020 campaign as he brings a lot of experience on the side.

The IPL 2020 will be played from September 19- November 10 in the UAE accross three venues- Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah.

Pat Cummins is currently the number one ranked Test bowler in the world. Pat Cummins became the most costliest foreign player as he was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for a whopping price of INR 15.5 crore, which was held in December last year in the player’s auction. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) had made additional value to their team.

“We wanted somebody who is probably the world-class and there is no better than Pat Cummins in the world right now, he is the best bowler in the world. It is an absolute privileged to have him onboard”. Dinesh Karthik said in a video posted on the official website of IPL. “The little conversations I have had with him shows that he is a gem of a guy and this matters a lot to me. He will come into the team and impart knowledge to the younger guys and this will hold everyone in good stead” Dinesh Karthik added.

All the eight IPL franchises have reached UAE for taking part in the upcoming tournament. All the team players and team personnel have to undergo six days quarantine period after landing in UAE. Everyone needs to be tested for COVID-19 thrice. All the players can start training with their teammates in UAE once they all test negative for COVID-19.

The final match of 2020 is scheduled to be played on a weekday i.e Tuesday, for the first time in the history of the T20 tournament. Both the afternoon and evening matches of T20 tournament would be played half-an-hour earlier than usual.
