God of Cricket Sachin Tendulkar on 27th March morning updated his fans about getting infected with COVID-19. Later that evening India’s World Cup winning all rounder Yusuf Pathan too confirmed about him getting contacted with this deadly virus. A week back we all witnessed Sachin and his team lift the first ever Trophy of Road Safety World series.
To everyone who isn’t aware Yusuf and Sachin were the core part of the team. It’s not been more than 7-8 days since the tournament got over. The Bio-secure seemed to have been successful enough but as we all know that in some cases COVID-19 symptoms take more than 10 days to get noticed. So there are high chances that the spread of COVID-19 might have occurred from the dressing room or the hotel in which these players were staying. There are also chances that these players might have contacted COVID-19 after exiting the bubble.
For now we don’t have any official statements from the organizers or rest of the fellow players about going through extra tests or quarantine themselves. But there might be a sense of panic between the players as they were in close contact with each other.
For now there are some foreign players who have reached back home and some who have stayed back in India for the upcoming IPL tournament.
I've tested positive for COVID-19 today with mild symptoms. Post the confirmation, I have quarantined myself at home and taking all the necessary precautions and medication required.
I would request those who came in contact with me to get themselves tested at the earliest.
