Australian opener David warner silenced his critics with a astonishing T20 World Cup campaign in Dubai. Australia’s offensive innings defeated New Zealand by eight wicket in last night to win their maiden men’s T20 world Cup. In Final,  After early dismissal Australian skipper Aron Finch, Warner took the charge to chase the score against New Zealand.

Warner was named as the player of the tournament, in which he scored a total of 289 runs for an average of 48.16. Before that in semi final against Pakistan, Warner’s dramatic dismissal gave chance to critics and his doubters to criticize him. By taking Player of the Tournament he silenced all the critics.

Heading into the T20 World Cup, the 35 year old had been dropped by IPL team Sunrisers Hyderabad. Warner was first laid off as a captain and replaced by New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson, before he was completely dumped from the team shortly after when the IPL season resumed following the covid rules.

“I always felt good, for me it was about going back to basics, getting on some hard, synthetic wickets in order to hit volume of balls,” Warner said after win on Star Sports Network.

Meanwhile social media also quick to praise Warner, including wife Candice, she answered who suggested he was “too old and slow”.
