CSK might release Ravindra Jadeja ahead of IPL 2023? Here’s what you should know

CSK star all-rounder, Ravindra Jadeja, who was handed over the batten of captaincy, is drifting away from the CSK dressing room.

Chennai Super Kings star allrounder, Ravindra Jadeja, doesn’t seem convinced enough with the CSK franchise anymore. On Friday, the all-rounder player removed all the posts related to CSK from his social media handles. The player also didn’t post a birthday wish to MS Dhoni. Suddenly, the rumors of a rift between Ravindra Jadeja and CSK Management started floating. The all-rounder player erasing the posts related to CSK triggered the rumors. Apart from that, there are multiple instances that add fuel to the fire when Ravindra Jadeja was appointed a skipper of the franchise and removed after a couple of matches. Here is the sequence of events that led to the trigger of rumors relating to CSK Management and Ravindra Jadeja.

Appointment as a skipper of CSK

On March 24, 2022, CSK appointed Ravindra Jadeja as a skipper of CSK when MS Dhoni was expected to lead the entire season. Ravindra Jadeja lost 6 matches with just 2 wins after being appointed as a skipper, even struggling with a bat who once rocked the IPL scorecard. Jadeja scored 112 runs as a skipper of the CSK in the eight matches which didn’t fruit CSK the results that they hope from their stalwart all-rounder.

Return of MS Dhoni

The return of MS Dhoni as a skipper to the side triggered the rumors of a rift between CSK management and Ravindra Jadeja. Ravindra Jadeja soon caught the attention with his injury that forced the player out of tournament. Shivam Dubey and Moeen Ali  handled the role of all-rounder and did their job fine-fettle but CSK failed to finish in qualifiers. While removing Ravindra Jadeja from captaincy, CSK issued a statement, “MS Dhoni has accepted to lead CSK in the larger interest and to allow Jadeja to focus on his game.”

CSK unfollow Ravindra Jadeja on Instagram

CSK had issued a statement on Ravindra Jadeja’s injury that many saw a smokescreen by the player to express his unwillingness to play for the franchise, anymore. “Ravindra Jadeja reported a bruised rib and was unavailable for Chennai Super Kings’ game against Delhi Capitals on Sunday. He was under observation and based on medical advice he has been ruled out for the rest of the IPL season,” said the team in its statement. Soon after the statement, CSK’s Instagram handle unfollowed Ravindra Jadeja on Instagram and that added fuel to the fire.

Ravindra Jadeja deletes social media posts related to CSK

Ravindra Jadeja, who has played for the franchise since 2012, deleted social media posts related to CSK on Instagram. Earlier, CSK CEO Kasi Vishwanathan had spilled beans on the social media controversy related to Ravindra Jadeja, “Social media, I absolutely do not follow anything. I have no knowledge of what is going on there. What I can tell you is that from the management side, there has been no problem and whatever is there on social media, I am not aware. Jadeja firmly remains in the CSK’s scheme of things for the future, always,” CSK CEO Kasi Vishwanathan was quoted as saying by The Indian Express.

Fans sense a massive rift

The fans are now predicting that Ravindra Jadeja is facing similar problem that once bothered Suresh Raina. Suresh Raina was snubbed by the franchise in the IPL 2022 Auction. Ravindra Jadeja now seems to be cornered.
