The Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2020 season shall commence tonight at 7.30 pm IST. The first to kick-off the action will be Trinbago Knight Riders vs Guyana Amazon Warriors. They shall play at the stadium named after Windies legend Brian Lara in Trinidad. Trinbago Knight Riders team is headed by Captain Kieron Pollard while Guyana Amazon Warriors shall play under the captaincy of Chris Green.
Tonight, Pravin Tambe will become the first Indian to take part in the competition. He shall make the debut scoring for Trinbago Knight Riders. The team won the last season of CPL throwing a brilliant performance on the field. Sunil Narine has been one of the key players in the teams’ qualification to the playoffs of the last edition’s CPL.
Guyana Amazon Warriors hopefully shall bank on the experience of cricketers such as Ross Taylor, Imran Tahir, and Shimron Hetmyer. The team’s captain Chris Green Green was suspended from bowling due to an illegal bowl in January (all Cricket Australia competitions). He was also snapped for an issue related to the IPL auction. But now, he seems to be back and shall play his first game with the remodeled action.
