Couple of months ago everybody was abusing me, says KL Rahul

One of the finest Indian batter who has proved himself yet again in the Test against South Africa. Despite of losing the match after Porteas pacers unleashed a havoc on Indian batters, Rahul stood strong and scored a hundred in the first innings. India was all out for just 245 which included Rahul’s 101 followed by Kohli as the second-best scorer with just 38 runs.

Rahul was praised for this tremendous efforts. However, the wicket keeper-batter has something else to say. Rahul mentioned how he is praised now but was critisized and abused a couple of months ago. He also mentioned that it’s better to stay away from social media as much as possible for any cricketer.

“As a person, as a cricketer, as an individual, you are challenged each day, each moment. Social media is a pressure. Today I have scored a hundred so people are singing praises. Three, four months ago, everybody was abusing me. It’s part of the game, but I can’t say it doesn’t affect you. It does,” Said Rahul.

The Indian batter was very firm about stating social media as a pressure in moder cricket times and every cricketer must be ready for it.

“The sooner you realise that staying away from it is good for your game and your mindset the better it is. It does affect each person. And anyone who says that doesn’t affect them at all, I’m sure is lying,” Rahul added.

After a dominating loss against the host team, India will be ready to face them in Cape Town for the final Test clash starting from January 03.
