Cheteswar Pujara says “I will prefer to play with red ball” when asked to choose between red or pink ball

Cheteswar Pujara India’s new wall and some call him the rock for his uncanny ability to stand at the crease for days. Pujara’s scored his slowest fifty against Australia but he was effective against Australian pacers with his rock-solid defence. The 33-year-old picked red ball over the pink ball.

In a Sports Today interview, Pujara said “I would prefer to play with the red ball if given the choice because it’s a different ball game altogether as a batter you need to have a different strategy. Yes, pink-ball is a different ball game. Although it’s the same format, I feel it’s a different ball game. So given a choice, I will prefer to play with a red ball,”

India has played only 2 pink-ball Test matches. However, India played their first pink-ball Test overseas against Australia. The men in blue failed to put a challenge and lost by 8 wickets.

India won the four-match series by 2-1.
