
Peshawar Zalmi defeated Lahore Qalandars in the first Super Over of this PSL. With the help of captain Shahid Afridi’s 39 runs, Lahore Qalandar was successful in reaching the Super Over but due to the superb bowling of Wahab Riaz in the Super Over Lahore Qalandars scored only 5 runs.
Shoaib Malik came to bat in reply to Lahore Qalandar’s 5 runs, scored a four off the first two balls of Shahenshah Afridi to register a big win for Peshawar Zalmi. Both the teams scored 12 points in the group stage but due to the high net run rate of Lahore, they finished second in the points table, leaving behind Peshawar Zalmi.
Lahore Qalandar’s captain Shahid Afridi tried to make the match exciting by hitting 3 sixes in the last over but Lahore Qalandar’s batting failed in the super over.
Shoaib Malik scored the most runs in this match for Peshawar Zalmi and took his team to a respectable score of 158 runs. In reply to Peshawar’s 158 runs, Mohammad Hafeez and captain Shaheen Afridi displayed brilliant batting from Lahore Qalandars and raised hopes of victory for Lahore Qalandars in a losing match.

Peshawar’s batsmen struggled against spinners Mohammad Hafeez and Fawad Ahmed and both these bowlers took 3 wickets while bowling superbly. While Peshawar’s batting appeared to be struggling against spin bowling, on the other hand, Lahore batsmen struggled against fast bowlers Wahab Riaz and Arshad Iqbal.
Lahore Qalandars will take on first-place Multan Sultans in the points table on Wednesday to make their place in the final. The Multan Sultans and Lahore Qalandars will get another chance to go to the final. While Peshawar Zalmi will play the first eliminator against Islamabad United on Thursday to take another step towards the final.
