The India Cricket Team will meet in Indore today ahead of the third Test, which begins on March 1. With a 2-0 lead in the Border Gavaskar Trophy, Team India paused after completing the Delhi Test in just three days. However, after a brief 6-day break, Rohit Sharma and company have returned to complete the series’ formalities. On Sunday, Team India will hold a practise session at the Holkar Stadium.
Jaydev Unadkat will return to the squad after completing a successful leadership role at the Ranji Trophy Finale, while Umesh Yadav will take a three-day break due to the death of the pacer’s father.
Meanwhile, half of Australia’s cricket team in India is still practising at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi before heading to Indore. On Saturday morning, Travis Head, Steve Smith, Cameron Green, and Scott Boland, among others practiced.
A victory in Indore will be critical for India to maintain its momentum. The only way India can miss out on a WTC Final spot is if Australia wins in both Indore and Ahmedabad while Sri Lanka wins in New Zealand by winning 2-0. If this occurs, Sri Lanka will take second place with 61 Points. India will be eliminated with 56 Points.
