BBL fans witness a one-sided final game as Perth gave a target of 172 runs, bowling Sixers out for just 92 runs.
Perth family runs into the ground from the sidelines and celebrations continue, while Jhye Richardson got hit in the nose during the celebration and was witnessed bleeding through his nose. Captain Turner will be happy with the team’s performance throughout the season as the team lost only 3 matches throughout the season.
Perth Scorchers happened to struggle when coming out to bat and Sydney dominated the initial moments of the final game as Perth were 25-4 by the 6th over. Captain Turner led his team with belief and dedication and played a captain’s knock of 54 runs off just 35 balls, giving the team stable momentum. Laurie’s innings changed the fates for Perth as he stood not out for 76 runs. This comforted the down-order batsmen to come and score some bonus runs for the team, which led to 171 runs.
The Man of the Match Laurie Evans made it happen for the Perth Scorchers as his 76* off 41 helped the team reach a score of 171. Laurie played stunningly and was also assisted by captain Turner. The partnership of both ended the team’s innings with a solid score on board.
A wonderful bowling spell by Perth Scorchers helped the team to bowl Sixers out in just 92 runs. Andrew Tye successfully took 3 wickets in 3 overs with an economy of 5, while Jhye Richardson took the last wicket of Sixers, bowling 3.2 overs and bagged in two wickets for the team. Sydney Sixers look very disappointed from the overall performance by the team as the downfall of the first inning’s performance affected the batting performance too.
Perth concluded the night with a fantastic win for their team, family and especially the fans. The players and the management appreciated the efforts of everyone involved in the tournament because of whom the tournament went on smoothly, despite the COVID-19 breakout across the world.
