Shahnawaz Dahani, a Pakistani cricketer, caused controversy on social media when he posted an emotional message about the departure of Pakistan’s bowling coach, Shaun Tait, on January 14.
Tait’s contract is set to expire and he is not expected to be retained. After the ODI series between Pakistan and New Zealand, Shahnawaz Dahani posted a photos on Twitter with the caption “A friend who brought smiles, left last night with tear. #ShaunTait” accompanied by crying and broken-heart emojis, which led some Twitter users to believe that Tait had passed away. Dahani received backlash for the post, which some deemed disrespectful.
