BCCI witnesses remarkable 72% revenue increase from ICC in new distribution model

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has witnessed a remarkable 72% increase in its revenue share from the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Under the new revenue distribution model approved at the ICC’s Annual Conference in Durban, the BCCI’s share has risen to 38.5% from the previous cycle’s 22.4%. This translates to approximately $231 million or Rs 2,000 crore annually.

The significant boost in revenue is attributed to the media rights agreement signed between the ICC and Indian broadcaster Disney Star, worth a staggering $3.1 billion over four years.

BCCI Secretary Jay Shah credited the collective efforts of state associations and the strategic ties with fellow ICC members for securing this substantial share. The allocation also includes a substantial amount for the ICC’s strategic fund to support cricket’s growth and development in the future.
