BCCI secretary Jay Shah designated as Member Board Representative of ICC Cricket Committee

On Sunday, BCCI secretary Jay Shah was appointed as the Member Board Representative to the ICC Cricket Committee, whilst Mahela Jayawardene was reappointed as Past Player Representative.

On Sunday, BCCI secretary Jay Shah has been appointed as a Member Board Representative to the ICC Cricket Committee.

The most important decisions were made at the ICC Board Meeting in Dubai. The CEC agreed, in keeping with a recent suggestion by the ICC Men’s Cricket Committee, that when travel restrictions are eased, more impartial match officials should be used, following the success of the use of home umpires.

In Tests, one neutral and one home umpire will be authorised beginning in the 2022-23 season, while home umpires will be permitted in ODIs and T20s.

The ICC Board of Directors agreed that South Africa will host the inaugural ICC U-19 Women’s T20 World Cup in January of next year, among other decisions. The tournament will include 16 teams and 41 matches.
