Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah is likely to be unavailable for the ICC Men’s T20I World Cup 2022, being held in Australia.

Bumrah who was out for a long time owing to an injury has once caught back the similar issue and as the situation stands, Bumrah was ruled out of the current India vs South Africa T20I series.

On Wednesday, September 28, BCCI informed that Jasprit Bumrah was unavailable due to back injury and will remain out throughout the series.

It is doubtful for the Indian pacer to be in the squad for the major event which is just 20 days after, and BCCI might have to rethink about utilising their standby players and possibly Deepak Chahar will be back in the squad, if not Shami.

“Jasprit Bumrah complained of back pain in during India’s practice session on Tuesday. The BCCI Medical Team assessed him. He is ruled out of the first T20I,” BCCI had tweeted.

India probable updated squad for ICC T20 World Cup: Rohit Sharma (Captain), KL Rahul (vice-captain), Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Deepak Hooda, Rishabh Pant (wicket-keeper), Dinesh Karthik (wicket-keeper), Hardik Pandya, R. Ashwin, Yuzvendra Chahal, Axar Patel, Deepak Chahar (if not Jasprit Bumrah), Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Harshal Patel, Arshdeep Singh.
