BCCI appoints Sairaj Bahutule as India A’s bowling coach for South Africa tour

Bahutule will join the likes of Saurashtra’s Sitanshu Kotak, the team’s head coach, and Assam’s Subhadeep Ghosh, who will be the fielding coach for the tour.

BCCI has decided to make another addition to the India A’s squad for the tour of South Africa. This time, the change is happening not in the team but rather the coaching staff, as leg spinner Sairaj Bahutule gets appointed as the team’s new bowling coach. He will join the likes of Saurashtra’s Sitanshu Kotak, the team’s head coach, and Assam’s Subhadeep Ghosh, who will be the fielding coach for the tour.

A report of TOI says that Bahutule, who has previously coached teams such as Vidarbha, Kerala, Bengal, and Gujarat in the past few seasons, is also confirmed as the spin bowling coach at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore. In 2017, he was the bowling coach of Rajasthan Royals and also worked with some of Australia’s young talents at Cricket Australia’s Center of Excellence in Brisbane. This means that Bahutule has some great experience under his belt, and it can come in handy for the likes of Krishnappa Gowtham and Rahul Chahar, who are currently a part of India A setup for the tour.
