The BCCI will take up a major revision of domestic match fees for women cricketers at its next Apex Council meeting scheduled for December 22, with the discussion coming weeks after India’s historic ODI World Cup triumph. The meeting will be held virtually at 7 PM.
While India’s women cricketers enjoy pay parity with the men’s team at the international level, there remains a significant gap in domestic earnings. With growing scrutiny and the boost from the World Cup win, the BCCI is now preparing to update the compensation structure for players across senior, U-23 and U-19 domestic competitions.
Another key point on the agenda involves the central contracts for the men’s team, particularly with respect to Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, both of whom have recently retired from two of the three international formats. Their contract grading for the 2025–26 cycle will be closely watched.
The Board will also discuss revisions in payments for umpires and match referees, with updated fee slabs likely to be proposed.
