BCCI announced its ODI squad for the upcoming series against West Indies, Ravi Bishnoi gets maiden call-up

Rohit seems fit to lead the white-ball series against West Indies.

India is all set to host team West Indies from February 6 as BCCI officially announces its team for the upcoming ODI series. The three-match ODI series is likely to be played in Ahmedabad – Narendra Modi Stadium as the COVID-19 concerns restricted the change in venues for the series.

BCCI surprises the fans with the official announcement of the squad list as fans witness a lot of changes after the 0-3 loss against the Proteas, which resulted in a humiliating whitewash for team India.

Rohit will be leading the entire white-ball series as the veteran batsman is declared fit by the management after he passed the fitness test, held in National Cricket Academy, Bengaluru.

Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami have been asked to rest as they will not be part of the upcoming series against the Windies. The duo pacers played throughout the South Africa series and BCCI understands the playing time for each individual. Virat too played throughout the South Africa series and seems available for the West Indies series as well

Vice-Captain KL Rahul adds up in the ODI list but as per the BCCI’s official statement, he will be available from the 2nd ODI, while Ravindra Jadeja will be ruled out as the knee injury’s post-recovery have not shown hundred per cent results to declare the experienced all-rounder fit for the West Indies series.

Experienced spinner Kuldeep Yadav gets a call as the leggie makes his comeback, while Ravi Bishnoi seems excited with his maiden call-up. Ruturaj gets a call again but with Rohit, Shikhar, Rahul, and Virat in the top order, his position in the playing XI is still a question. Prasidh Krishna and Avesh Khan too have been added to the squads.
