BBL: Moises Henriques extends contract with Sydney Sixers

Moises Henriques, the veteran Australian all-rounder, committed to a three-year contract extension with the Sydney Sixers, further solidifying his association with the team.

Henriques solidified his position as a key figure in the Sydney Sixers squad by agreeing to a three-year contract extension. The experienced all-rounder has been an integral part of the Sixers for quite some time and will now enter his thirteenth season with the team. At 36 years old, Henriques’ new contract will see him through until he is 39, reaffirming his dedication to the club.

Under Henriques’ leadership, the Sixers had a successful campaign last season, qualifying for the finals. Although they fell short in the summit clash against the Perth Scorchers, Henriques played a crucial role in guiding the team to the title match. Having already won three championships with the Sixers, he will be eager to add a fourth title to his impressive collection in the upcoming edition of the BBL.

Reflecting on his long-standing association with the Sydney Sixers, Henriques expressed his delight at the opportunity to continue playing for the same club. He acknowledged the significance of remaining with one team throughout his career and the privilege of leading the Sixers. With a plethora of records to his name, including being the most-capped player and highest run-scorer in Sixers’ history, Henriques has the chance to create history by becoming the first player to captain a BBL side in over 100 matches. To date, he has captained the Sixers on 94 occasions.
