
Big Bash League: Hobart Hurricanes vs Sydney Sixers face each other in match 52 of the tournament.
The Hurricanes defeated Sixers by seven runs in an enthralling match. It went down the wire but Hurricanes proved the better side in pressure and bowled beautifully to win. Nathan Ellis was a costly bowler though pocketed three crucial wickets. Scott Boland and Sandeep Lamichhane picked two wickets apiece to restrict Sixers just seven runs short of winning the match.
After being asked to bat first. Hobart Hurricanes put up a humungous score of 188/8 in 20 overs. Mathew Wade’s enchanting knock of 86 off just 44 balls helped in the cause. D’Arcy Short sensational 72 (52) led the Hurricanes to set a huge target for the Sixers.
The Sixers’ bowlers failed to break the opening partnership of Short and Wade. After that the bowlers continuously pocketed wickets. however, the damage was done. Sean Abbott, Ben Dwarshuis and Jake Ball pocketed three wickets apiece. Sydney Sixers Jordan Silk’s 78 off 49 and Moises Henriques’43 off 25 almost won the match. However, after losing both of them. The team crumbled to bounce back.
Mathew Wade was awarded with the Player of the Match Award for his knock of 86.
