BBL: Brisbane Heat beat Perth Scorcher by 6 runs

Big Bash League: It was match number 54 of the BBL. Brisbane Heat locked their horns with Perth Scorchers. Scorchers’ won the toss and opted to field first. Brisbane Heat scored 181/7. The Scorchers were just six runs short (175/6) as Heat bowlers bowled brilliantly in the death overs. Marnus Labuschagne pocketed three wickets while Mitchell Swepson picked two wickets for Brisbane.

Brisbane Heat opener Chris Lynn continued his magical run and played a vital knock of 51 off just 25 balls. Marnus Labuschagne’s 46 and Lewis Gregory’s 36 off 23, in the end, made sure they had a decent total to defend.

Chasing 181 started to look comfortable when the openers fired big shots. Jason Roy’s and Liam Livingstone provided a platform for the batsmen down the order. Roy scored 41 off 32 while Livingstone 32 off 22. but it was Mitchell Marsh who almost won the match for them as he scored 54 off 26, however, couldn’t take his team home.

Marnus Labuschagne was awarded the Player of the Match award for his all-performance.
