
BBL 2022 – Almost 9 years since the first edition of the Big Bash League happened, no Indian cricketer has been part of the tournament so far. But last year after announcing his retirement from international cricket, Unmukt Chand had surprised everyone. Chand had signed himself for Big Bash League and became the first Indian cricketer to play in the league.
Unmukt Chand has been part of the Melbourne Renegades franchise in the tournament. Though the team has already been out of the knockout games. Chand makes his debut against Hobart Hurricanes.

Playing under the captaincy of Aaron Finch and players like Shaun Marsh in ten same dressing room. Chand has looking to make an impact over his sidelined career in the past decade. After retiring at the age of 28, Chand had expressed his interest to play different leagues around the world.

Chand has already moved to the USA and hoping to play for the National League in 2023. Former India A captain and part of u-19 world cup winning team in 2012 never been part to Indian national team – for various reasons. It’s not the first case with Chand when a player career has been sidelined who can forget about Parveen Kumar, Yuvraj Singh, Gautam Gambhir, Sehwag, and Varun Aaron.
All players have been either ignored or sidelined in his career. Even recently after his retirement, Harbhajan Singh has claimed his career could’ve been more successful if had been part t of the team in the past four years.
While in a match against Hobart Hurricane, Aaron Finch side lost the match by 6 runs after batting second.
