BBL 10: Lynn and Labuschagne kept hopes alive for Brisbane Heat

Skipper Chris Lynn and Labuschagne helped Brisbane Heat to stay alive in the ongoing BBL tournament against Melbourne Renegades. Brisbane Heat who is still hoping to have the luck, so that they can manage to enter in the next round beat Renegades by 26 runs. Brisbane with this moved up to the fourth spot of the points table but they have only 1 match left and they have to depend on other’s results as well.

Chris Lynn and Marnus Labuschagne came up with important knocks, which was followed by a disciplined effort with the ball as Brisbane Heat managed a crucial 26-run win over Melbourne Renegades to keep their hopes afloat. Having posted a total of 173/5, Heat bowled Renegades out for 147 as they bagged all four points on offer to move up to the fourth spot with 25 points.

The Heat skipper set the bench for the innings straightaway by managing a couple of boundaries off Josh Lalor in the opening over and the bowler took a further hammering as Lynn clubbed two back-to-back sixes in his next over.  With a six off Evans in the ninth over, Lynn registered a 29-ball fifty. Although the Renegades hit back with the wickets of the openers in the same over – Lynn handing a catch to deep midwicket and Bryant getting caught behind while attempting a cut – Heat managed to post 88 in the first half of their innings.
