Bangladesh captain impressed with Rishad for match-winning effort

Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain has described 21-year-old Rishad Hossain as a complete “white-ball package” following his match-winning performance during the series decider against Sri Lanka.

As a leg-spinning bowler and an accomplished batsman, Rishad inspired Bangladesh to victory after scoring a dazzling 48 off 18 balls. After needing 58 runs from 13.5 overs, Rishad reached the crease and hit two sixes and three consecutive fours off Wanindu Hasaranga’s first over, helping his team win the match.

After the match, Najmul expressed his admiration for Rishad, explaining that Rishad has not only improved his batting but also managed to take a crucial scalp during the match. “Looks like a white-ball package. He is a very good fielder, his batting is gradually improving, and his bowling is very important,” he said.

Moreover, Rishad also bowls leg-spin, which is a rarity in Bangladesh, but Najmul praised the player’s performance, especially his performance in batting, which has come a long way since the New Zealand series. The captain further said that it helps or how to confirm that we have the player, and it makes the captain’s job easier. He added that it was the part of the game, and everyone is happy. Meanwhile, the captain further applauded Tanzid Tamim’s contributions as a concussion substitute after playing an impactful innings that scored 84 off 81.

He pointed out the coaching staff preparing Tamim in the nets and emphasized adaptability is a major part of cricket in today’s era. He said that playing 80 or 100 runs does not really matter, and your team must win the match. Consequently, Bangladesh will have improved their cricket with players like Rishad Hossain and Tanzid Tamim coming through their ranks.
