Australia vs India: Nathan Lyon tells why Indians can come back stronger

India’s tour of Australia 2020-21: The Indian team made a terrific comeback from 1-0 to 1-1 in the second test match. The visitors were playing without the likes of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. In the third test match at the SCG. India saved themselves despite injuries to their key players. Hanuma Vihari with a hamstring and R Ashwin facing back issues managed to hold on. Nathan Lyon feels that there’s no advantage to Australia as they play the final test match at the Gabba.

India’s brave fightback certainly impressed cricket pundits. In a virtual press conference on Wednesday Lyon said “I wouldn’t say that (Australia have the advantage). You look at the class throughout the Indian squad, yes they will be missing a couple of big players but they have got a talented squad they can pick from,”
The visitors have continuously struggled with injuries. India will be forced to play their second-best bowlers in the last test match of the series. Jasprit Bumrah, Umesh Yadav, Mohammed Shami and Ravindra Jadeja not playing in the last match. Lyon though refuses to overlook the bench strength of the visitors.

The Kangaroos have a phenomenal record at Brisbane, having won 33 out of 55 matches. losing just 8. India will have to find balance as they are to miss their key players. On the other hand, The Australians will look to seal the series by winning. Currently, the series is well poised at 1-1.
