Australia Unveils Women’s Test Squad for Historic South Africa Encounter

Australia has announced its Test squad for the landmark meeting against South Africa, set to take place at the WACA in Perth starting February 15. Headlining the squad is Sophie Molineux, a versatile bowling all-rounder, who returns to the national team after an absence of over three years.

Molineux’s inclusion comes on the back of her impressive performances in domestic cricket, where she has excelled both with the ball and as a leader. Notably, she captained the Australian Governor General’s XI to victory against the touring South African team in a T20 match in late January.

After overcoming an ACL injury that sidelined her for more than a year, Molineux has been in stellar form, topping the wicket-takers list in the Australian 50-over domestic competition. With 17 wickets to her name at an impressive average of 14.47, she has proven her readiness for international cricket once again.
