
Australia secured a commanding eight-wicket victory over West Indies in the third ODI in Canberra on Tuesday (February 6), completing a 3-0 whitewash of the series.
Xavier Bartlett led the Australian bowling attack, claiming figures of 4-21, supported by Lance Morris and Adam Zampa who took two wickets each. West Indies were bowled out for a mere 86 runs in 24.1 overs.
In response, Australia chased down the target in just 6.5 overs, with Jake Fraser-McGurk and Josh Inglis leading the charge with aggressive batting performances.
Despite Alick Athanaze’s resilient 32 runs, West Indies struggled to build partnerships and succumbed to pressure from the Australian bowlers.
Australia’s opening pair, Fraser-McGurk and Inglis, set the tone for the chase with a rapid 67-run partnership. Although Fraser-McGurk fell for 41, Inglis and Steve Smith ensured Australia reached the target comfortably.
With this victory, Australia completed a clean sweep of the ODI series, showcasing their dominance over West Indies in the limited-overs format.
