It was an unfortunate day for Australia’s iconic Sydney Cricket Ground as the third day of 3rd Test between Australia and South Africa was just a waiting period, without any actual play.
The umpires inspected and waited for more than five hours for the rain to not be an unfortunate cause for the game to get postponed.
Right from the first drizzle at 10:00 AM local time to the umpire’s decision of calling it a day at 3:54 PM local time, the fans as well as the players kept hoping for at least an hour’s game.
The rain got heavier at times and due to which the ground staff couldn’t approve for a continuation because of the ground’s wet condition.
Fans as well as netizens booed the officials to host a match at SCG despite understanding the weather conditions.
Play abandoned 😔
