Virat Kohli came in to bat when India were 32-2. The Australian bowlers looked in good rhythm, sending openers Prithvi Shaw and Mayank Agarwal back to the pavilion. The Indian skipper built a 68 run partnership with Cheteshwar Pujara before Nathan Lyon got Pujara out on 43.
Kohli got his 50 in 123 balls, including 8 fours. Both Kohli and vice captain Rahane looked in good touch before clumsy calling from Rahane got the Indian skipper run out on 74. The 32 year old looked unhappy as he was leading India to a good total. The pair added 88 runs for the 4th wicket.
Hanuma Vihari and Ajinkya Rahane are at the crease , with the new ball set to b introduced in a few overs before the end of day’s play.
