AUS vs IND: Indian pacer’s father passes away in Hyderabad while he is training in Australia

Mohammed Siraj lost his father on Friday, November 20. The right handed pacer is currently in Australia preparing for the upcoming tour. Due to the quarantine rules, the bowler will not be attending his father’s last rites. He said that his father always wished that his son would make his country proud. He added that thankfully his father saw him playing in National colours.

Talking more about his father he mentioned that he knew the kind of hardship his father went through in his early days. His father drove an auto to let him fulfill his dreams and let him pursue his passion. He went on to say that he had lost the biggest support he had in his life and it was shocking. He added that the team management, Coach Ravi Shastri and the captain Virat Kohli supported him well and told him to be bold during these tough times.

He opened about time that he was first informed about his father’s declining health.  He was informed that his father was suffering from lung ailment and was admitted to hospital a day before his fantastic performance against the KKR side where he took 3 wickets and gave away only 8 runs in his 4 over quota, blowing away the KKR top order leaving everybody stunned. He added that he was worried the whole time during the match as his father was admitted to the hospital just a day before, but after the match he got to know that his father was back home and that was a happy moment again right after his top performance against KKR.

The RCB twitter handle posted on their timeline about this and gave their condolences to the family of Mohammed Siraj.

Mohammed Siraj is part of the Indian test squad that going to face Australia from 17th December.
