Aus vs Ind: India might surprise Australia with new batting order

After the fickle fighting spirit of India against Australia in the third test match, a lot of injuries increases the hazard of the team. It became challenging for India to play with a playing XI that can assure the victory of the Indian team. The 4th and the final test in Brisbane will also be the decider of the series, after standing with 1-1 victory counts and a draw. Indian team can still come up with some surprises in the Gabba Test, by changing their batting order. Forthwith, the challenge with the Indian team is to select a playing 11 from the benched players. There is no doubt that India was on a high after the superb draw in Sydney on Monday but the news of Jasprit Bumrah came as a shock.

  • Ishant Sharma (Abdominal Injury)
  • Mohammed Shami (Fracture)
  • Umesh Yadav (Calf Issue)
  • Ravindra Jadeja (Dislocated Thumb)
  • Hanuma Vihari (Grade 2 hamstring)
  • Jasprit Bumrah (Abdominal Strain)

India is still planning to surprise Australia with a new playing eleven. According to the sources, Prithvi Shaw is practicing a lot on his techniques for a week and all set to make a comeback. The scan report of Mayank Agarwal is yet to come, who got hit on his hands while practicing. If declared fit, Mayank Agarwal will replace Hanuma Vihari. Hanuma Vihari who played a heroic knock-in third test is also likely to miss the upcoming series against England due to his hamstring tear. In case, Mayank Agarwal is declared unfit, Prithvi Shaw will make it to the playing 11.

The new playing eleven might look like this: Rohit Sharma and Shubhman Gill will be opening for India, Mayank Agarwal or Prithvi Shaw whoever can make it to the playing eleven will bat at number 3, Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara will be dropped down and Rishabh Pant will bat at number 6. These changes in batting order can surprise the Australian team as they were unable to handle the changed order in the 4th session of the third test.  Sundar is reportedly going to make his test match debut in the crucial 4th match and will be replacing Ravindra Jadeja. Sundar was not part of the team at the start of the test series but was asked to stay back in Australia after the 3-match T20I series. This could be the massive break for Washington Sundar.

After the promotion in the batting order of Rishabh Pant in the Sydney Test, Ricky Ponting and many other cricketers praised the Indian Cricket Team for their unpredictable move. Rishabh Pant played the crucial knock of 97(118) which helped India to draw the match.

According to Brisbane weather predictions, there are chances of moderate rainfall in the city right through the weekend. If the prediction holds true, we may have a 1-1 series draw for the first time since 2003-04. Also on Tuesday morning, Suneel Gavaskar predicted the victory of the Indian team by 2-1. Hopefully, Mayank Agarwal will join the team for the Brisbane test if everything goes accordingly and can also play a vital role in the series victory for India.
