India ended their first innings on 326 at the start of Day 3. Rahane and Jadeja contributed for the lead to go beyond 120. Rahane ended his knock of 112 as he was found short of his crease trying to steal a single. Jadeja too was sent back to the pavilion after completing his 50. The lower order couldn’t contribute much as the team wrapped up their innings on 326.
India got the start they wanted as they got Burns who has been struggling quickly when the team total was at 4. Umesh Yadav bowled a beautiful fuller delivery which got the faintest of edges on Joe Burns bat. Soon after, Umesh Yadav walked off mid way through the 8th over as he was seen limping and was in some trouble.
Labuschagne joined Wade at the crease and the duo troubled the Indian bowlers as the left-right combination constantly rotated the strike disturbing the line of bowlers.
Ashwin came into the attack in the 10th over as he wanted to use the new ball to his best. Labuschagne, who was looking a threat to the Indian side was dismissed by a beautiful delivery off Ashwin as he bowled a straight delivery and nicked the ball to the slip, where Rahane caught it comfortably. Labuschagne went back to the pavilion after scoring 28 off 49 deliveries.
India have a upper hand over Australia as they still have the lead in their hand with 2 wickets down.
