AUS v SA: The hosts go 1-0 up in the series

Australia won the first Test match against South Africa in just two days.

Day 2 of the first Test match between Australia and South Africa ended before day 2’s gameplay. Australia needed just 34 runs to win in the fourth innings of the first Test match. This was an epic Test match that was never expected to end in two days.

In the whole game, only 503 runs were scored, and 34 wickets were fallen. Only 145 overs were bowled in this Test match. Australian pacer Mitchell Starc also became the seventh Australian bowler to complete 300 wickets in Test cricket.

Australia in the chase of 34 runs lost four wickets. The Test match could have gone much closer but South Africa bowled 15 extras. Australia takes the lead in the three-match Test series against South Africa.

The second Test match between the two will be starting on 26th December and will be played at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
