Asia Cup: Ravindra Jadeja ruled out; Axar Patel to replace the all-rounder


The BCCI said in a statement that Ravindra Jadeja has a right knee injury and is out of the tournament. Axar Patel, who will take his spot, was already included in the squad as one of the standbys and will soon travel to Dubai with the group.

During India’s 148-run chase against Pakistan last Sunday, Jadeja was promoted up to number four in place of the left-handed Rishabh Pant and scored an important score of  35 runs. Jadeja had statistics of 1/15 in the second game against Hong Kong, which resulted in a 40-run victory.
