Colombo, September 8: After briefly stepping away from his Asia Cup 2023 commitments to celebrate the arrival of his first child, Jasprit Bumrah has rejoined the Indian cricket team. Just in time for India’s crucial Super 4 match against Pakistan on Sunday, Bumrah landed in Colombo in the early hours of Friday.
Bumrah had temporarily left Sri Lanka immediately after India’s opening game on September 2 against Pakistan. Consequently, he couldn’t participate in the second league match against Nepal on September 4. However, his return aligns perfectly with the team’s first Super 4 fixture.
The Indian team is set to resume practice at the R Premadasa Stadium on Friday night, with Bumrah rejoining his teammates.
