Team India has finally secured a new jersey sponsor, with Apollo Tyres set to take over the role, marking a significant development ahead of upcoming fixtures.
According to reports, Apollo Tyres will pay ₹4.5 crore per match, a figure higher than what the previous sponsor offered. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had been without a shirt sponsor during the ongoing Asia Cup after its agreement with online gaming company Dream11 was cut short.
Dream11 had signed a ₹358 crore per year deal, but the partnership ended prematurely following the enactment of the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill, which banned real-money gaming applications in India.
The fresh sponsorship deal ensures that the Indian cricket team will once again feature a corporate partner on its jersey, beginning with upcoming international assignments. With Apollo Tyres stepping in, the BCCI is expected to benefit from a more stable, long-term arrangement that also aligns with regulatory compliance.
