Alex Hales opens up about the ECB’s decision of cancelling the Pakistan tour last year in October.

English batsman Alex Hales opened up about the ECB’s decision of cancelling the tour last year in October citing the security concerns in Pakistan.

Alex Hales is currently in Pakistan as he is one of the prime players of the Pakistan Super League, playing for team Islamabad United. “The decision to cancel that tour made absolutely no sense,” Alex Hails told Geo TV. He further stated that the Pakistan team toured England in the crucial times of COVID-19, helping the ECB ‘massively’. Alex Hales suggested that he gets treated well in Pakistan since he has been in Pakistan four to five times now.

Hales appreciates the Pakistan Board and the management who take care of the foreign players with decent hospitality offered to the players. “ I think my stats are right up there with the best in the world,” said Alex appreciating the pitches which encourage batsmen to play for a long time. Alex is one of the fierce opening batsmen for PSL as his average score is over 44 with a consistent strike rate which is close to 150.

Alex Hales is one of the most experienced England players to play in Pakistan for a decent amount of time. England and Pakistan boards are possibly hoping to tour Pakistan twice this year as the tour in 2021 was postponed.
