Alex Carey scored a ton the day after released by Delhi Capitals

Alex Carey scored a ton for Adelaide Strikers in BBL against Brisbane Heat, the day after released by the IPL franchise Delhi Capitals. Delhi Capitals released him as he didn’t perform well for the franchise. He was given chances in 3 matches in which he scored 32 runs.

Carey scored 101 in 62 balls and helped Strikers to enter the finals of BBL on Thursday night. The lefthander is just the sixth batsman in BBL history to score two centuries, following Craig Simmons, Usman Khawaja, Luke Wright, D’Arcy Short, and Aaron Finch.

After the astonishing performance of Alex Carey, Delhi Capitals coach Ricky Ponting stunned and shared his thoughts with the media about buying him back in the auctions.

The young cricketer also made the remark after being dropped by the franchise and the astonishing knock that hopefully, someone will pick him up. “It was a really good opportunity in the first place to get over there and we’ll see, if I go back in the auction, hopefully, someone will pick me up, [if] you are listening Ricky,” said Alex Carey

“I also told him there is a chance, I’ll buy him back at the auction. So not all is lost,” responded Ricky.
