Ajinkya Rahane aims for series sweep as India faces West Indies in 100th Test

Ajinkya Rahane aims to lead India to a series sweep against West Indies as the second and final Test begins. The match holds significance as it marks the 100th Test between the two teams.

India is expected to dominate West Indies, much like they did in the series opener in Dominica. After this Test, India’s next Test will be during their tour of South Africa in December-January.

Rahane, who showcased an excellent performance in the World Test Championships final after an 18-month gap, seeks to seize the opportunity to make it challenging for selectors to overlook him for the Proteas series.

Batting coach Vikram Rathour emphasized the importance of an in-form Rahane for the upcoming South Africa tour.

When it comes to technique, you constantly work on that, but what stood out for me was that he was much more calm in his approach. He was playing late and close to the body. He is still batting the same way in the nets.

We hope he will do well. Conditions in South Africa, you will need somebody like him to come good,” Rathour said ahead of the second Test.
