After Kapil Dev, Ravindra Jadeja becomes the second Indian cricketer to achieve this unique milestone

On the first day of the third Border Gavaskar Trophy Test match at Holkar stadium in Indore on Wednesday, Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja made history (March 1). The 34-year-old all-rounder became only the second Indian, after World Cup-winning legend Kapil Dev, to complete a double of 500 wickets and 5000 runs for India.

Jadeja dismissed Australian batter Travis Head on the fourth ball of his first over, giving him 500 wickets in international cricket and completing the 5000-run-500-wicket double. It’s yet another feather in Jadeja’s cap. In the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia, India’s star all-rounder has been on fire. Jadeja has appeared in 63 Tests, 171 ODIs, and 64 T20Is for India, scoring 2623, 2447, and 457 runs, respectively.
