West Indies cricketer, Nicholas Pooran celebrates his signing with the Hyderabad franchise for Rs 10.75 crores at the IPL auction 2022 by giving his teammates a pizza party inside the bio-bubble, ordering 15 pizzas worth Rs 15,000.
Pooran is currently with the West Indies squad for the upcoming three-match T20 series against India, starting tomorrow.
As per My Khel, the team manager said, “Since the outside food is not allowed, he (Nicholas Pooran) placed the order at the hotel chef for 15 pizzas”. As the team is in a grade one bio-bubble, everything had to be sanitized, even a certain room temperature had to be maintained.
“It needed to be vetted by a qualified chef. Since it is a strict grade one bio-bubble, we have to tell the food temperature, how it is sanitized, and then only it goes to the room. There was a total of 15 pizza boxes and everything was sanitized before being delivered to the room. The player had to make payment”, the Manager further said.
It is revealed that Pooran also experienced a mild shock a day after the pizza party. His charger wasn’t working, so he called for a spare one which was sanitized before it reached him. As the charger wasn’t dried up properly, he received a mild shock when he plucked the charger inside the socket.
