“We are pleased with the outcomes of our discussions and negotiations with Sri Lanka Cricket on shifting the schedule to November this year. We are looking forward to playing Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka, which is a heavy task but a challenge that I know our players will embrace,” said Mirwais Ashraf, ACB Chairman.
The games were originally planned to take place in February 2023, but since both teams’ cricket schedules allowed for an earlier date, they were moved up to November. This will be the first bilateral trip by Afghanistan to Sri Lanka. These two teams have previously competed in four one-day internationals (ODIs), with Sri Lanka holding a 3-1 head-to-head advantage.
