The former Indian opener Aakash Chopra has pointed out his biggest worry ahead of this three-match Test series against South Africa starting from 26th December. The Indian cricket team is scheduled to play three Tests and three ODIs in the month of December and January. They were also scheduled to play five T20I against them but due to the rise in COVID-19 cases, the T20I series got postponed to June 2022. BCCI wanted to keep a short tour after the arrival of the new COVID-19 variant.
However, the Indian team has already reached South Africa and started their net sessions and regular practice. But before this Test-match series, Indian Hindi as well as English commentator and the former opening batsman of India, Aakash Chopra has given his views on India’s batting as well as bowling line-ups. He also mentioned his biggest worry ahead of this Test-match series against South Africa. While he spoke on his official YouTube account, he was mentioning the openers again and again and said that he is more concerned about the Indian openers that are going to play in this series.
“Opening didn’t work out very well. If openers don’t do well, the team doesn’t do well. We did well in England because Rahul and Rohit were consistent; here, we don’t have that, which could be a problem,” said Aakash Chopra on his official YouTube account.
The former Indian opener is mainly worrying about the opening pair and wants them to do well in this series as it will be crucial for the Indian team in this whole Test-match series against South Africa according to him.
